Nice Sentiments... And Yet...
The Feeling You Get When You Give Giving is one of the greatest character building exercises on the planet. When you give of yourself without expectations of return you expand in your ability to love. A sense of abundance develops. A win-win situation is created because everybody gains. This type of thinking goes against what most people believe. Most people believe that if you give, then you have less.Instead of a sense of abundance and prosperity, they experience a sense of scarcity. People who think in these terms tend to struggle with fear, frustration, depression, illness, and anger.
WHAT ARE YOUR FEELINGS?
Hello All,
I appreciate the sentiment that this message and other messages conveying the same sort of sentiment give and yet for me they seem to miss the most important aspect of all. The thought is nice and yet with no indication of how to or what one really wants or even a method to actually move from feelings of lack to feelings of abundance it only soothes for a little while.
In my opinion the most important aspect of the whole issue is connection with one's Inner Being (God/The Universe/High Self/Spirit (Holy), Divinity/Source, whatever word you choose).
Abundance or lack is not a matter of any action... giving/receiving, loving/hating, etc with or without expectation; it is a matter of connection with one's Source.
Source through your Inner Being is always letting us know whether we are lining up with Inner Being or moving out of alignment with Inner Being (Source/God).
When we feel good it lets us know we are thinking thoughts that are in line with God/The Universe and when we feel bad it lets us we are thinking thoughts that are not in alignment with Source/God.
Feeling bad (sad, depressed, any negative emotion) is an opportunity to recognize that our thinking is moving us away from who we truly are and pinching off our connection with God/Source/Inner Being. It is a time to celebrate and look for thoughts that bring relief. Even just a little relief (a small thought that moves one from sadness to frustration) is moving us in the right direction. Then we can look for thoughts that move us up the emotional scale to more feelings of relief, until we feel good regardless of what is happening externally and then we will attract circumstances we enjoy.
To Your Best,
Doc Houston
