Where did the Law of Attraction come from?...
Liz,MY two cents worth. MBE Mary Baker Eddy (CS-Christian Science) was a student of Quimby (Father of NT-New Thought). After Quimby died, MBE got real sick (sicker than she normally was) and got well, she believed it was God that heals, Quimby was a mentalist (healer) so he gave the credit to the mind. It took MBE about 9 more years to fully develop her ideas and out of that CS was born. CS went one way and NT another. CS sees more separation between God and man and NT sees union between God-man.
How LOA and UL's differ today and early NT is probably more clarity and depth on the LOA. Definitely on the Law/Art of Allowing.
From a NT prospective 'evil' which is live backwards is simply a mental label used to denote that which one really doesn't prefer. NT offers, there is no source of evil as there is no source of darkness. We don't go into a room and look for a dark switch. All there is, is a light switch and darkness is only available when light is resisted/blocked. Remove the resistance and light is the natural flow.
A NT thought - since we are eternal beings and eternity is expanding we will never get it done (have it all) and the variety of what is here creates contrast which launches new desires to which we have to get up to speed with to realize the new desires. Motivation is the birthing and getting up to speed with new desire. All that is required is contrast and with all that is available in an ever expanding universe contrast is inevitable.
What the individual is, is focused consciousness, the Leading edge extension of (God, Source, All There Is, etc.)
Since there is no where to go and we never get it done, have fun, play and find all the joy you can. The best we can be is an example for others of how to create one's reality.
It doesn't require a single other individual to have LOA and the UL's work for you. What others think and do have zero to do with what you think and do UNLESS you give it thought. The only way someone else can get stuff in your cake is if you look at what they are putting in their cake and push against it. You can't tune in FOX radio if you press a CBS radio affiliate, two different vibrational frequencies located in different places.
To Your Best,
